MBLAQ (엠블랙, an acronym for Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality) is a South Korean quintet boy band created by Korean pop R&B singer, producer and actor Rain under a branch of his label J.Tune Entertainment called J.Tune Camp. The five members include Seung Ho (Yang Seung Ho : Leader), G.O (Jung Byung Hee : Main Vocalist), Joon (Lee Chang Sun : Vocalist), Thunder/Cheon Doong (Park Sang Hyun : Vocalist/Rapper), and Mir (Bang Cheol Yong : Rapper). The group debuted on October 9, 2009 at Rain’s Legend of Rainism concert.
On October 14, 2009 the group released their debut single album, “Just BLAQ”, which topped various on-line and off-line music charts in South Korea. The group then released their second single album Y on May 19, 2010, and on January 10, 2011, MBLAQ released their first studio album, BLAQ Style.
Initially debuting as a group more focussed on dance and pop music, MBLAQ have since experimented with different genres. Oh Yeah and Y were dance/pop tracks, My Dream,Last Luv and Rust are ballad tracks, Bang Bang Bang is rock/pop, Cry is an R&B track, andStay is a track infused with hip-hop, electronic and rock.
Yang SeungHo (양승호), born on October 16, 1987, is part of the five-member korean group MBLAQ. He’s the leader and lead vocalist.
He’s graduated from Anyang High School of Arts.
Seungho collaborated with Lee Hyunjung in the song Grey Sky from the 반올림 OST, and he also collaborated with Hoody H in the song One.
Jung ByungHee (정병희), born on November 6, 1987, is a member of the korean boy band MBLAQ. He’s the main vocalist.
G.O. had a duet with J.Ae for Even if we can’t speak of the end (2010). Released a digital single titled O-IWI-O was released on September 3, 2010. The single, produced by E-Tribe, is a collaboration with Nassun, and is a reply to Girls’ Generation’s Gee. An MV teaser was released prior to the full MV’s release at midnight on September 3. (2010).
He has taken part in recording a theme song, titled Let’s Go, for the 2010 G20 Seoul Summit, which was released in both Korean and English.
Following G.O’s collaboration with Nassun, another collaboration, a digital single titled ONE, featuring G.O was released on the 15th of September.
G.O was featured in Jea’s (Brown Eyed Girls) song titled Because You Sting, released on the 28th of December.
He is now part of the show “Immortal Song 2”, and on June 4th, 2011 he released his solo sigle titled “Even In My Dreams”.
Lee ChangSun (이창선), born on February 7, 1988, is a korean singer, dancer, actor and model. He’s part of the korean boy band MBLAQ, were he is the lead vocalist and main dancer.
Joon is majored in dance at Korea National University of Arts.
He appeared in Rain’s Ninja Assassin movie as the teenage Raizo, in Kan Mi Youn’s Going Crazy MV, in the South Korean drama Jungle Fish 2 and in the short drama Housewife Kim Kwang Ja’s Third Activities.
Lee Joon Appears alongside fellow artist IU in K.Will’s 가슴이 뛴다/My Heart is Beating MV, and Provided the voice of Gnomeo for the South Korean release of the movie Gnomeo & Juliet with T-ARA’s Jiyeon as Juliet.
He was a fixed guest in the variety show 100 points out of 100 (oh my school).
Park SangHyu (박상현, born on October 7, 1991, is the younger brother of 2NE1’s Sandara Park and is part of the five-member korean group MBLAQ.
He’s the lead dancer, papper and vocalist.
Thunder appeared in IU’s MV for Missing Child, in Lyn’s MV for Celebration and in K.Will’s MV Gift/Present along with U-KISS’s Dong Ho and BEAST’s AJ/Lee Gi Kwang.
He also was a featured rapper in IU’s Merry Christmas in Advance from her REAL album.
Bang ChulYong (방철용), born on March 10, 1991, is the main rapper of the kpop group MBLAQ. He’s also the younger brother of the korean actress Go Eun Ah.
Mir was a featured rapper in Ahn Jin Kyoung’s (of Baby Vox Re.V fame) Bad Person, and in Kan Mi Youn’s Going Crazy with his fellow member Lee Joon.
