2PM

2PM is a South Korean boy band, originally a seven-member group, but currently consisting of six members  due to the sudden contract termination of leader Jaebeom in September 2009. They are managed by JYP Entertainment. The current members are Junsu, Junho, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung and Chansung.

2PM is one of the two subgroups branched out from the eleven-member (before Jaebeom’s departure) boy band One Day, the other being 2AM.

They debuted with the song “10 Jeom Manjeome 10 Jeom” (10점 만점에 10점, 10 Points Out of 10 Points) in 2008.


Jun.K

Kim Minjung (previously known as Junsu) was born in Daegu, South Korea on January 15th, 1988. Prior to singing, Junsu had entered and won various poem- and song-writing contests.He originally auditioned for YG Entertainment, where he befriended G-Dragon and Tae Yang of Big Bang. He was accepted into both YG & JYP Entertainment, but chose to take the path of JYP in his final decision.

He is the lead vocalist of 2PM. His specialties are singing, composing, and being fashionable.

He graduated from KyungHee Cyber College. His nicknames are Jun K., Panda.

Nichkhun

Nichkhun Buck Horvejkul (Thai: นิชคุณ หรเวชกุล), known mononymously as Nichkhun (닉쿤), was born on June 24, 1988. He is a singer in 2PM, a 6-member boy band that is active in South Korea and managed by JYP Entertainment.

Nichkhun was born in Rancho Cucamonga, California to a Thai Chinese family. At the age of two, he moved to Thailand with his family. At the age of twelve, he studied in New Zealand for a year and a half and moved back to the United States to finish his schooling at Los Osos High School in Rancho Cucamonga, California. After high school, he was a coach at Rosemead High School for their badminton team. There, he was scouted by JYP at the Los Angeles Korean Music Festival.

After passing the audition hosted by JYP Entertainment, he signed a ten-year contract with the company but later resigned for an eight-year contract, not including training, and was brought to South Korea in 2006 as a trainee.

He first appeared through MNET’s Hot Blood, a program that showed the intense physical training that 13 male trainees had to go through for the opportunity to debut in either 4-member ballad group 2AM or 7-member dance group 2PM under JYP Entertainment.
Nichkhun participated in JYP’s talent competition, Superstar Survival, where he took the role of the host.

In May 2010, he featured in a commercial for Everland’s Caribbean Bay water theme park along with 2PM Taecyeon & Chansung and Girls’ Generation members Yoona, Seohyun & Yuri.

On June 1, 2010, he was announced to be an additional cast member to We Got Married, pairing up with Victoria of f(x).

Taecyeon

Ok TaecYeon (born December 27, 1988), generally known as Taecyeon, is a member in the Korean boy band 2PM, where he’s mainly responsible for the rapping parts. In 2010, Taecyeon gave his debut as an actor in the Korean drama Cinderella’s Sister.

Taecyeon was born in Seoul, South Korea, but emigrated with his family to Bedford, Massachusetts, where his parents and older sister still currently reside. Taecyeon himself lived there for seven years before returning to pursue his career in Korea.

Taecyeon is featured in “Yes I’m In Love” by Bada on her fourth album and Baek Ji-Young’s 2009 song “내 귀에 캔디” (My Ear’s Candy). He formally hosted SBS’s music show Inkigayo with Wooyoung, and was a permanent cast member on Family Outing 2 before it got canceled.

In 2010, he saw his debut as an actor in the 2010 KBS drama series “신데렐라 언니” (“Cinderella’s Sister”) alongside Moon Geun Young and Chun Jung-myung. His second drama is Dream High, which premiered on January 3, 2011.

Wooyoung

Wooyoung  was born on April 30, 1989, as Jang Wooyoung (장우영), is from Busan, Korea and was selected as a JYP trainee through MGoon’s JYP auditions, of which he won first place against 5,000 other candidates. Before debuting in 2PM, Wooyoung filled in as a dancer partner with Wonder Girls member Kim Yubin when TOP from Big Bang fainted the day before the special performance with the Wonder Girls during the 2007 MBC Music Awards.

His speciality is dance. His nickname is Boo-Uhngee (Owl).
He is majored in dancing in Seoul School For The Arts.

Wooyoung was casted for the drama “Dream High”, which premiered on January 3, 2011.

Junho

Junho, born January 25, 1990 , full name Lee Junho, is from Ilsan, Korea and signed a contract with JYP Entertainment after winning the “JYP’s Superstar Survival” talent search (which Taecyeon and Chansung were also contestants in) in 2006, placing 1st out of 6,000 competitors. Due to his looks, he is often compared with Korean entertainer Rain.

He is a vocalist and dancer from the popular korean 7-member boy band 2PM.

His specialties are singing, beatbox, and dancing. He enjoys listening to music, watching dancing videos, learning composing, reading, and reading fashion. He graduated from Ho Won University – Program Acting Major.

Chansung

Chansung (born February 11, 1990) , full name Hwang Chansung (황찬성), acted in the Korean sitcom “Unstoppable High Kick”prior to his debut with 2PM. Chansung participated in the same survival game as Junho but lost. He auditioned a second time and was accepted into the company. He rapped in 2AM’s song “To Her” (그녀에게).

He is vocalist and rapper in the korean group 2PM.
He’s also a model.
Chansung was the first eliminated in JYP’s Superstar Survival.

FORMER MEMBER:

  • Park JaeBeom / Jay Park  (박재범)

He was born on April 25th, 1987. Jay was the leader, rapper, vocal and dancer. He left the group in September 2009 due to a controversy that caused his contract termination.
